Carrington Relief Road’s cost could rise to twice initial estimate
An update about the cost of our relief road
The Parish of Carrington hosts mixed residential and employment areas, such as the Trafford Energy Park, petrochemical plants and paper recycling plants. A large area of the Parish is green space dedicated to agricultural use. The residential areas accommodate less than 200 homes and just over 360 electorate. Over the next decade the residential development is set to increase with an expected 4000 plus new homes and 46,450 sq. metres of additional employment spaces. To support this growth, new infrastructure is planned with the construction of the Carrington Relief Road with an expected opening date in 2027. The majority of residents support this development, as it will alleviate the HGV traffic problems along the A6144.
